Some even make the proposal to postpone the Olympic Games to the year 2032,” Bach said. “But all these speculations are hurting the athletes who have already overcome challenges in their daily training and competition.””We are not losing our time and energy on the speculations. We are working on how the Games will take place, we are fully concentrating on the opening ceremony on the 23rd of July this year.”But with Tokyo and other 10 Japanese prefectures in a state of emergency, the organizers are still facing mounting pressure to make the games happen. The restart date of the Olympic test events, originally scheduled on March 4, has been forced to be postponed to April 3.var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:false};(For the latest China news, Please follow Peoples Daily on Twitter and Facebook)(Web editor: Liang Jun, Hongyu)Add your comment/* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * */var shortname=window.location.host;var disqus_shortname=;var disqus_identifier=;if (shortname==en.people.cn){disqus_shortname=enpeople;disqus_identifier = 9814304;}/* * * DONT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */(function() {var dsq = document.createElement(script); dsq.type = text/javascript; dsq.async = true;dsq.src = // + disqus_shortname + .disqus.com/embed.js;(document.getElementsByTagName(head)[0] || document.getElementsByTagName(body)[0]).appendChild(dsq);})();Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.Related readingTokyo 2020 organizers to extend deals with all domestic sponsorsIOC and Tokyo 2020 organizers agree on measures to simplify OlympicsAthletes to test for COVID-19 upon arrival for Tokyo 2020Tokyo 2020 postpones volunteer training amid virus outbreakWe RecommendFire brigade in Shanghai holds group wedding
