The sanctions included allowing US authorities to freeze these officials assets and prohibit US firms from doing businesses with them. The US has violated international law and basic norms governing international relations by unilaterally imposing sanctions on Chinese citizens and legal entities in accordance with its domestic laws, CBIRC noted in the statement.”We will firmly uphold national sovereignty, security and development interests, support financial institutions in conducting their businesses in accordance with the law, and provide fair and quality financial services to all clients, including citizens from Hong Kong and the mainland,” it said.According to the CBIRC, a number of new foreign institutions have been established in the banking and insurance industries over the past year and quite a few of them are from the US. Both Chinese and US enterprises and citizens have benefited from the extensive financial cooperation between the two countries.”A stable China-US relationship not only serves the fundamental interests of the people in the two countries, but also represents the common expectations of the international community,” CBIRC noted.  var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:false};(For the latest China news, Please follow Peoples Daily on Twitter and Facebook)(Web editor: Wu Chaolan, Bianji)Add your comment/* * * CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT BEFORE PASTING INTO YOUR WEBPAGE * * */var;var disqus_shortname=;var disqus_identifier=;if ({disqus_shortname=enpeople;disqus_identifier = 9805290;}/* * * DONT EDIT BELOW THIS LINE * * */(function() {var dsq = document.createElement(script); dsq.type = text/javascript; dsq.async = true;dsq.src = // + disqus_shortname +;(document.getElementsByTagName(head)[0] || document.getElementsByTagName(body)[0]).appendChild(dsq);})();Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.Related readingChina firmly opposes U.S. destroyers sailing through Taiwan Strait: FM spokespersonWorld expects China, U.S. to shoulder responsibilities for world amid profound changesChina, U.S. can have better future by focusing on cooperationChina opposes U.S. move to add 59 Chinese entities to export control listChina says cooperation with U.S. on lunar samples depends on U.S. policyWe RecommendXiongan Railway Station to be put into operation by end of this year
